Microsoft improves productivity by trial four- day working in a week In Japan

Microsoft’s Japanese division found that minimizing working days in a week, is lead to improvement of productivity. They take a trial in august that caused an increase in productivity and a decrease in costs. This also gets a good effect on the energy level of an employee and also they didn’t ask for more leave.

Not only is the Netherlands a beautiful place to live, but its four-day workweek is definitely a plus as well, the workforce averages around 29 hours a week. 

Microsoft is not the only organization to explore the idea of a shorter working week. In New Zealand, one trust management company trialed the same four working days in a week and found the staff more focused on their work and decrease their stress level.

In the UK, one London-based science research foundation explored plans to give Friday off without any deduction of their pay but drop the idea due to its complexity. A four-day working week was also the focus of a recent study commissioned by the UK’s Labour party.

Microsoft Japan:-

The Microsoft trial is especially interesting in the context of Japan’s notoriously long work hours, says Bloomberg, which notes that the country is struggling with a labor shortage as well as an aging population. The trial also reduces meeting time just 30 minutes so its guide to cost saving for Microsoft. Electricity bill reduces by 23 percent and paper printing decrease by 59 percent. Employees had motivated to use tools like Microsoft Team to communicate directly without waste time for holding a meeting and 92 percent of employees were grateful for this reduced working hour.

Microsoft Japan managing another work-life for their employees so they can take time off and do work in a more flexible and smarter way. Microsoft is also announcing any similar plans for the US workforce. Who’s handles their core development on many of its products in including Windows, Office, and Azure. It’s a great initiative by Mircosoft for their employees so that they can work with more enthusiasm and in an energetic way.
